Yes, he knows. He is looking for anything that will run on a 68k mac, such as what the one in the screenshot was based on so long ago.
And if you look closer at the screenshot, there is a Mini vMac window.
I might suggest that if the dark stuff on the top of the LCII box is mold, just trash the box. Now.
Some might try to clean it but imo if you have moldy paper stuff, get it gone. 99% of the time it is not worth keeping and is doing more harm than good. And sometimes people do not know what they...
IDK about you but if the boxes are saturated in urine and who knows what else, I would say to toss them. If you really care then find some of identical size and use the original styrofoam or something, just for the sake of any future transportation. *shrug*
Keeping things in unopened plastic...
It actually only took 3x 3.5" in stock form. :p
http://www.poopr.org/images/zbgc10onr73s73hsesf0.jpg
There are only five 3.5" HDDs and one floppy drive in the case. And one of the bays conflicted with my GFX card's power connectors. Only a single 5.25" bay is empty.
And this is the latest...
I suppose you are not familiar with me, and the people who do may chuckle when I say this but lets just leave it at this:
We have very different opinions about mini/mid/full towers. :p
I used to use a case that could take 6x 5.25" drives and 9x 3.5" drives. but it was too small! Or...
This was said already but I am going to say it again.
Please respect this guy and his work. Do not go and just pass them out everywhere. I understand that having information available may be nice, but to be perfectly blunt 98% of the people on this forum are not doing anything that would...
The drives in the Rev A-D iMacs and in the Lombard&Pismo are just plain crap. That is the secret to why they are all broken; not because of any usage patterns.
Just garbage. Replace it
Byrd, that is a slotloading optical drive, not one from a trayloader. the slotloaders in the later iMacs...
It does look like the CPU card would cover the RAM slots in that case, I never did look into the duals.
but how can the mounting holes be backward when you have two on either side of the connector and one on the other side of the CPU? (unless you are rotating the card, but it could never...
drag it onto the stuffit expander icon, or go into stuffit's settings and tell it to associate itself with those file types.
*Edit
and also do not show off your pirated stuff on this forum, I guess.
If you are willing to flash a card and also willing to dump that ancient ADC display(replacing it with a Dell Ultrasharp or something else good) then you should be looking at this:
http://themacelite.wikidot.com/compatibility
Otherwise, OEM G5 cards are a No Go...
A non-Apple card would need to be a flashed card. And no, G5 cards are not the cards you are looking for as they are all too new for accel under OS 9.
An Apple GeForce 4 Ti is what you want if you want the fastest OS 9 card. They actually shipped in QuickSilver 2002 and MDD models(IIRC), by the...
I wish to clarify for any mods watching, this is a quote from the credits at the end of the show. They quite literally did stick in "Keep circulating the tapes".
I just thought I would say that. regardless of actual copyright stuff. You know, because that is a big deal on this forum.
* Voila, not wala. This page has a flash thing that plays a recording of the word so you know how to pronounce it:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/voila
Ah, yes that might be the best option. But that said, a GF 5200FX is a pretty miserable card. the GF6200 (non-turbocache(turbocache cards are worse IIRC)) is already complete garbage.
*shrug*
Best to get a different computer. This reminds me of cloud trying to use an xserve for desktop tasks.
Short answer:
Core Image: No.
Quartz Extreme: Not with PCI.
Long answer:
Core Image: No.(as far as I am aware)
Quartz Extreme.... perhaps. There is a hack to enable quartz extreme if the AGP version of the card supported it. but IDK if it still works with later Mac OS versions and whatnot...
The problem with machines such as the LC/Performa 550 and 575 is that they used a cardedge-ish adapter plugged into the HDD. There is simply no room for any adapters at all or anything with it's connector in non-stock location unless you tear into the wiring harness.
You would be better off...
Having a socket or not is NOT going to make a difference unless the contacts are really dirty(and then it probably does not even work). But of course you can still have cold solder joints on the soldered in CPU too. But still, if pins of your CPU are not making contact the board is likely not...
