Nice... What is the oldest system that you're able to connect to it?
Ive got FreeNAS for my needs, the oldest System is Mac OS 7.6.1 that can connect to it via AFP, Im able to connect to it via my MacBook Pro and 68k mac with ethernet can connect to it. I've had Macintosh IIci connected to...
I've done countless of caps and never lifted a pad by twisting it exactly 180° twist.
What people don't realise - the cap leak is actually toxic. What makes me cringe is once you've washed in the dishwasher - you're eating it on your dinner plate and drinking the glasses from your old caps!!! ...
yep that above.
If you have windows/DOS disk that you want to use - you'll need PC File Exchange control panel installed on that Mac to recognise file format coming in, it'll convert to whatever needed to be.

Growing up - I had PowerBook 190cs and later upgraded to 5300cs, later found 5300ce sold it all off (regretted!)
Last year I obtained two PowerBook 190s and both are working well.
About 4 years ago I did obtain PowerBook 5300cs and it just crumbled into pieces - very bad plastics and it had...
Evening all -
I recently acquired MicroMac's Carrera040 and I have not been able to start Macintosh IIsi.
Macintosh IIsi has been professionally recapped and is working 100%.
Once I install control panel & extension in the folders, Mode32 and or 32bit is active in System - doesn't...
The only concern I have is if the power management in Mac Portable can cope with that type of battery for charging and powering it - I don't think so.

Ive gone with Dell - I have both 27" and 24" - both monitors has ALL the ports what I'd use. VGA, DVI, Component (works with Apple IIgs), S-Video, HDMI... I might've missed one or two more - best monitor I could find and would recommend.
Bear in mind when you're looking for one - always ask...

Connector & Jumper for Quadra...
I have both logicboards - Quadra 650 and 800.
The only difference visually I can see is that 800 board has connector for external LED and jumper to activate Q800, without it it'll become Quadra 650.
The other difference is that Q650 does not have that connector, I added it on it and it does...
That chat cannot be right as well - I *think* I've had 6.0.4 on SE FDHD when I was testing out non-backlit Portable as I thought there was an issue and tested in SE.

Its both 640x480 and 832x624 only showing 256 colours doesnt matter if you have VRAM or not.
As I've confirmed its not the software issue - its hardware issue.
I've washed the logic board and closely inspected the slots - seems to be normal. I'll rest it tonight as I'm buggered

update: Pulled the HDD out and put in Quadra 650 - basically very similar boards - Quadra 650 does show thou of colours on that HDD.
Pulled the VRAM out from Q650 and put them in Q800 - still showing 256 colours. Tried zapping the PRAM - not changed.
Logic board at fault?
I recently got Q800...
Morning all,
Am I missing something with this Quadra 800, without any VRAM sticks, it only shows 256 colours.
When I add 2x 512k VRAM or 2x 256k VRAM in - it still doesn't show Thousand of Colours (or Millions). (only shows 256 colours thats all even tho changed over VRAM sticks which they're...
