G'day all,
I have this PowerBook G3 PDQ which the LCD needs replacing badly - its horrible wash out.
I saw this thread for Pismo LCD swap - does anyone know what the best next alternative swap would be?
Thank you
Cheers

I think Green is sort fo indication for power LED?

Good evening all,
Tonight I accidently broke the CRT while removing the hard drive/floppy and I cracked it.
I have another spare CRT from Macintosh Classic, but it had different Yoke's connector.
SO I decided to swap over the yoke over to working CRT, but I haven't fired it up - I will resume...
Hey mate -
I did try doing it on Q660av - same issue what you're having - ditched it and moved back to Q800 in Q700 shell (I did have it running in Q950 but I rather Q700 shell with 800 board in it). Running 1.6.4 with Mac OS 7.6.1

What I usually do - I mix with fresh solder and wick it up, if its stubborn enough then I will drill it out as I do have a small hand held drill - see pic;

The Hard Drive is not necessary dead, what is happening is that the arm has hit the bump stop and lock up and when the hard drive does power cycle and the arm doesn't move then it'll time out and shutdown. Ive repaired several of those by replacing the bump stops with radiator overflow hose...
Yep this - turn it on and turn it off.
Alternatively - is to get another SCSI based Macintosh to retrieve the HDD media or ask another media to do that for you
Cheers
