It has been surprisingly hard for me to find any instructions for actually using a ][ system, but I finally found this, which is a great help:

Great, thanks for those links! I had seen the first on my travels and was looking for it. The second page I had not seen, so I am poking around more of the site now.
Problem still stands that I do not know how to get ANYTHING onto the ProDOS partition, including the image-handling tools they...
I bought Scott's LC475 recently, hoping to use it as a general 040 Mac and also home for mr ][e card. My parents bought a Franklin Ace for me when I was a wee thing and I likec it, but don't remember how to get around in ][ land anymore.
What I have done so far is formatted the 2GB drive to...
Since I haven't really done much with Quicktime on 68k, the first thing you should do is see what it can handle. If you open an .mov on your 68k, what does Quicktime offer for output formats? If I am not mistaken, Cinepak and animation codecs are maybe old enough to work, but can't be sure. Also...
All depends on what OS you are running. If you want fast, I'd say use a text-based browser such as Lynx. I am sure there must be some similar MacOS program. But as fast as it is, many pages won't render well.
For full graphical page rendering I second the choice of iCab. It was the most...
^ What LCGuy said.
The DB25 connector is probably for a PC parallel or serial port. For most purposes, they are compatible. RS232 (PCs) uses mostly a TX line (transmit) and RX (receive) for signals, and also +V and ground. The Mac 8-pin mini-DIN is RS422 which is differential serial over...
I do not infrequently exhibit such a propensity, myself! Ah, yes - I will try to reduce the critical self-analysis spilling over into the board. I work difficult hours which has the effect of me being surprised by what I wrote, at times.
Armchair linguistic pathologists could have a field-day with my previous post! All the Things You Could Be By Now If Sigmund Freud's Wife Was Your Mother...
One of the boards you don't mail to me - should be the base of your new SE/30. ;]
Really though what I would do is clean the up, look them over for problems, and test them. If all the functionality is there, it is a keeper. The stuff like if it has sockets vs soldered-in, better RAM slots, etc.
Wow, OP your life these days is a LocalTalk dream come to rampaging life! Congratulations on another excellent score. I have never seen these before but they look great. I wonder if they really are IR, and how speed compares to serial cable.
:approve:
I guessed this too, but if this chart is accurate, the various versions of A/UX overlap the same handful of machines.
http://www.aux-penelope.com/hardware.htm
It seems that there is no Mac which can run A/UX 1 or 2 which cannot run 3 instead. I was hoping v1 might run on my SE. Oh well!
Yes, I did more research into the morning and realized that. For whatever reason I assumed it was from the 7.5-7.6 time. I guess a new filesystem warrants a major OS version. HFS it is!
I was amazed at how clean it was! I was saying to myself that it was like a completely new drive. The drive was kind of floating when the LC arrived, so this bouncing is probably what caused the problem. Like many of the
plastic-tab era Macs it is adequate for daily use, but not gigging...
It started out a bit difficult. First I wanted to test the box before installing the ][e card, and I needed to fiddle with cd600i jumpers to something it was happy with. It psyches me out that this is the only Mac I have seen which flashes a happy boot Mac for a second even if there is no boot...
I know, this is out of character for me! Just like when I did a Google image search for Digidesign NuBus cards and saw your avatar in the lineup.
I was going to link to info about these but had trouble remembering where I saw it. Here! http://www.cx5m.net/ When I discovered it the site...
I can see the directory via your link, but when I try clicking on a file or directory I eventually get a message that there was "a problem" with it. This might be due to my browser's passive FTP. I will try it again on another box here which has a real FTP client.
Why the php page instead of a...
