Using a expanding foam method like this with the tube face down should remove much, but certainly not all, of the risk. But yes, regardless of the feedback it can still hurt sellers. If I recall correctly, eBay always changes things, but last I recall late shipments will decrease top rated...
@jeremywork that’s a good idea. Maybe using the foam methods while using a LC as a template. Then the buyer could have it ordered and sent to the seller. The only issue with that is most eBay sellers won’t agree because they get dinged for “late shipments”

I think the Sony tube was used in other things and can be sourced. Finding a dead 575 might be the best bet. Sadly, this is a normal sight any more. I'd love to make new cases but its a hard sell because only those with currently broken ones would buy them. The tooling cost would exceed...
I'd be willing to buy some after produced. I have a dead M5120 and my friend has a stack of dead ones I suspect are related to the hybrid. I personally lack the design experience to do much, but I am happy to have things produced/distributed. How big the market is questionable. It could be...
I have a 700mhz iMac G3 that I'm looking to see if a capacitor list exists so that I can order and match capacitors. Can any direct me to where such a list might exist?
Its sad that these companies have to fake stuff like that. I can’t really see much reward for them doing it either. 90% of people using vintage stuff will know it’s fake. Unless this fake was made 20-25 years ago.
I just discovered male PLCC 84 adapters that might have saved a fair bit of trouble. Those could be good for building a PCB in the future though.
Does anyone know a “cheap” logic analyzer that has at least 84 channels and that a novice like me can capture/store data and sent to someone more...
Because I was having trouble finding Macintosh TV capacitor lists and lack the fine SMD soldering skills, I had @ymk assist me with the replacements. He offers recapping services on eBay. For those that don't know he also created the MacSD which has some really great features that the SCSI2SD...
Some good news, despite my failures of desoldering (lesson learned), @ymk assisted me in repairing the issues with the board and correcting the breakout issues. Now, we have a fully functional board with breakout. @ScutBoy was kind enough to lend his Brainstorm system (don't worry I used my...
@BacioiuC That could be it, but I don't know for sure. And the worst part is that the asset tags and stuff is on the back so its not something that can be seen in the video. Then again, maybe I should just be happy knowing it was on there in some capacity.
Lithium is an interesting option. I think if we made the plastic in such away to make the cells user replaceable they could provide their cells and thus greatly reduce the liability. I can have both injection molded parts and stamped metal contacts made. What I lack is any practical...
@moldy great work! I don't remember seeing another for sale before. After you run out of your boards, if you'd like to have me see about having a small batch professionally manufactured (if demand here exists), I'd be happy to help do that and can send you some kind of payment for units sold. ...
@Torbar I saw that entire episode and got excited thinking it was that one, but unfortunately not. I'm sure the clip must be out there somewhere though.
@ScutBoy I have transparent CRT here that I couldn't figure out how to convert RF Coax to RCA, the 'adapter' I used didn't convert...
