Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Cool, thanks, I have updated the info with PageMill. That's the same packet (materials, anyways) as the Rev Ds and the early slot-loaders so I combined them all together.
Very interesting that the Rev Cs also shipped with the yellow binder that the Rev As and Bs did; would have thought it'd...
Great, I have updated the entry with those discs. Do you also happen to know if it also shipped with MDK or Adobe PageMill? If so, that would be the same as those that came before and after.
I also still need the part number for that packet (overall), but doesn't sound like we have that here...
Thanks, that is good to know re: your Rev. C and is also consistent with what I have at present.
Rev. B iMacs did not ship with OS 8.1, but rather OS 8.5. This is indicated on EveryMac and I also personally have one where this is indicated on the original box etc. See CompleteSet for more...
Cool, thanks. I've also seen a lot of disc sets where only one of the discs, sometimes even a random one (e.g., restore disc #3 of 7) has a Z/1Z/2Z prefix, so I guess that is for stuff where only the materials on that disc are impacted.
Could you articulate more about why there might be...
Interesting, thanks for sharing. This is certainly one of these cases (of which there are plenty) where it's likely impossible to place it on one side of the fence or the other (rev B or C) without definitive knowledge from the original owner as to what system it shipped with. Also, since it's...
Returning to this thread now that I have launched CompleteSet, a new online resource that aims to address questions like this in a more efficient and reliable way.
Right now the software CDs portion of the project is the only complete part; I will also be expanding this to documentation...
Today I am very happy to announce CompleteSet, a new online resource for vintage Mac collectors and enthusiasts. The goal of CompleteSet is to provide a complete, accurate, and functional resource for determining the accessories, peripherals, software disks, and documentation materials that...
I have a similar SSD configuration in my 500 MHz Indigo slot-loader, and can confirm that booting from OS 9 behaves similarly. After about 30 seconds of the disk with flashing question mark, it boots up just fine every time. I've never minded it (I always just considered it part of the boot-up...
I once had a machine with the same issue as your first problem here. Took it apart and found that the speaker wasn't plugged in ... So that taught me to look for the simplest things first :)
These are easy enough to disassemble so I'd check and make sure stuff is connected properly first.
Thanks for photographing and documenting all of this. It is great to have resources like this in the community.
As an aside, good grief there are a ton of caps in there. I count at least 60 on the ColorSync board alone. This display would be one helluva recap job.
I've not previously seen...
I've updated the item pages for these two G4 towers with photographs and documentation the full, correct sets of accessories now that they've been properly identified and verified:
Power Mac G4 Quicksilver (867 MHz)
Power Mac G4 MDD (FW800 - Dual 1.25 GHz)
According to the P/N list for the...
I don't have OS X on my iMac G3 so I can't personally say for sure, but there should be some kind of "displays" section in System Preferences depending on what version of X you are using.
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, this is a case where I am certain that the box pieces are all original to the machine based on the ownership history and condition of the unit when I received it. And, the list looks good to me! All of that is consistent with the CIB machines I have in my...
Thanks for linking to my site - I try to keep things as accurate as possible. If you look at the "accessory cover" cardboard insert for my MDD on that page, you can see the black Pro Mouse is depicted there. So, this system did ship with black peripherals.
The later "MDD '03" (single 1.25...
