i'm using this one with 10 switches: my current settings are: 1-4-5-8 for "multiple scan 16" - the "multiple scan 21" one doesn't give me all the resolutions under 7.5.5

i know this is an old topic, but have you figured it out? i have a Q700 and it's behaving exactly the same.. i even tried using the monitors control panel from system 7.5.5 but that didn't help at all, nor adding the 'quadra monitors extension' to my user's system folder.

i would be interested in this too. there's supposed to be a "user's guide" and a "systems and network administration manual" but i couldn't find them anywhere in any format..

too bad this is dead in the water, i'm so envious of the amiga folks..

in case anyone needs this: just set your login shell to something other than bash (preferably sh) and X will work. you can start bash afterwards..

nah i just use rsh/telnet and ftp. ssh 2 would be slow as molasses even if it compiled..

after some testing: - os starts with 'finder unexpectedly quit' but works anyway - system profiler never opens - machine randomly shuts down sometimes (not just on boot) - battery works but is not detected ('left bay is empty') otherwise everything (sound, network, native resolutions, clamshell...

okay figured it out. having a CF card adapter in the PCMCIA slot makes it crash hard before even starting the boot process.. just for future reference

hey, so.. i tried this on my pismo but any way i try to boot it (directly from CD, or by copyint the system folder from the restore image to a partition and copying the ROM over to it) it just gives me a frozen mouse cursor before even the happy mac.. my firmware is 4.1.8f5. is there anything...

well i tried all the numbers and letters on the rotary dial with the adapter set to '678' but i'm getting nothing. interesting that since removing the e-machines control panel the distortion is gone. still no picture though.. just a black screen indicating there is a video signal, just nothing...

yeah i have a SCSI2SD and a ROM-inator and mkfs just hangs on formatting. with the original ROM reinstated it formats, albeit slow af.
