    Macintosh 68060 Redux

If one would like to see something done, one really has two options: one can learn to do it oneself, or one can incentivise other people to do so, either with money or with something else they would value; which may just be encouragement or cheering. Glumly telling people who have just done...

    Macintosh 68060 Redux

Well done. I've always said that we'd only get an 060 working in a Mac if someone clever put in the work. You are clever and you have put in the work. Nice one.

    Different ROM SE/30

Yeah, hacked ROMs are massively overrated; it's not really an upgrade in any meaningful way, it's more an excuse to tinker.

Timbuktu Pro 4 on IIci with system 7.5.5 hangs on shutdown

FWIW, I used to use Pro 3 on 7.x and never experienced the issues you mention here, inasmuchas that means anything...

Problems with Quadra 610 ; Dead Board and Unusual PSU

To an extent, although the made in China isn't so much the problem as the mystery aliexpress brands you've never heard of. Go for a reputable brand like nichicon, panasonic, wurth &c., or the house brand of a reputable component distributor (like RS or Farnell), because wherever they are made...

    Pop-up menus on System 6

I think the intention is really that a WIND is something that your application is in control of drawing most of, whereas if you want something with controls and stuff, you would tend to only have one of them and it would be a modeless dialog. Don't forget you can use other WDEFs for your...

    A thread for packing lists

A couple I missed: Apple HD SC {20, 40, 80}. British. HyperCard Basics. British.

    A thread for packing lists

This is a thread for scans of packing lists, so there's somewhere to put a record of what actually came in the box with what hardware. Here's a few to start with: LaserWriter IINT/NTX accessories pack (British) StyleWriter accessories pack (International) AEK II Centris 650 with CD-ROM Drive...

    Lisa 2/10!

Or they could run my build that works with hard discs and has several of the bugs fixed ;-)

    Lisa 2/10!

Congratulations! The 2/10 is probably the most sensible Lisa to have in my opinion as someone who also has a 2/10. Ahh, both of mine were knackered so I gave them away for Science to happen. I'll have to hear someone else's working one day. Yeah - once you actually start looking at it and...

    My Mad B&W G3 Setup!

Woo, well done. That can feel very overwhelming.

    Salvation Archive

You know that that's not even the same limewire, right? Like, this one is a company that also owns the rights to Fyre Festival and if that isn't enough of a red flag for you I'm not sure I can help you.

I didn't even notice those while scanning! Can see them now...

    A thread for RackMacs

Yes! I'd forgotten about this but how nice to see it again. Worth it even if just for the enormously overengineered power switch in pic 5 if anyone is wondering.

CC trouble Red colour dropping when warm

This may be an annoying suggestion but have you thoroughly cleaned the edge connectors, both on the boards and on the wiring harness? When I've had a single colour drop out on these it's often actually been the connector playing up.

    New SE/30 find!

That's in pretty decent nick! Good find.

    MacAuthor anyone?

The OP means they've already uploaded it, so it's precisely the version they have. Hooray for language ambiguities!

    LCWeb, a 68k web server

Yes, you'll need some kind of proxy, though as usual it is wrong about how to actually go about it. Personally I'd look at using fetchmail + courier-pop3 or similar to basically set up a mail proxy. Could someone in theory build a modern encryption stack etc for 68k? Certainly. Would it then...

What's inside an original [10100] Cayman Gatorbox?

Quite a lot of things from that period seem to use AC wall supplies then do rectification "in-house" as it were: you can see a fairly chunky bridge rectifier on your first board pic at the bottom just left of the middle (D01 - D04). I've always assumed this was due to space and it being harder...
