Yes, but the IIx also doesn't have an external floppy port, yet is listed as supporting the Floppy EMU on the internal port. So, I was just wondering why he didn't put the same note on the II.
That's an awesome factoid that I was unaware of. My first Mac was a dual-floppy SE!
Yes! The Mac II HD 20 init mounts FloppyEMU in HD20 mode on a Macintosh SE/30 with the standard ROM. BTW: I used the System 6.0.3 System Disk image as my boot floppy disk. I have not tried other system versions.
@bigmessowires
1. Why isn't the Macintosh II listed for at least floppy...
@superpete located these files. The Macintosh II HD-20 init is likely the init referred to in the technical article.

Very respectable. Nice.
I recently posted about adding a little bit of solder to the SIMM RAM contacts to help them make better contact. A number of people have had success with doing so. But, if you are happy with 20 MB, then I agree that you should not risk breaking a socket tab.

Peel off the side labels to reveal screws underneath
The case is made of die cast metal. Really high quality and solid.
Very nice Unitrode UC5603 active terminator chips. Low capacitance, low power, current/temperature protection, and a voltage regulator. Some...
Congratulations @Tashtari it works! You were right about the PowerBook 100 having native HD20 support in ROM. It can even boot off the HD20 (being emulated by @bigmessowires Floppy Emu).
Swap the female connector for a male and you've got yourself an adapter.
I used some header pins...
Okay. I just received it. I hope you don't mind us walking through the development process in the open forum (as opposed to direct messages).
The connector on your adapter board is female, but unfortunately, so is the ribbon cable on the Floppy EMU.
So, I figured I would just pull the ribbon...
Fluke 87V multimeter. It can measure up to 10,000 uF. It's a bit old fashioned, but I'm happy with it.
Maybe. However, the IIsi I tested has all aluminum polymer capacitors.
Yes, this is my guess.
Did you test the resistor and capacitor near 45 before you reinstalled them. The values are...
Now that I've had a night to sleep on it, I agree with your analysis. Your IIsi is not drawing down the 5V rail as quickly as mine. So, yours has some combination of higher capacitance and/or higher resistance.
I measure 5265 uF with the power supply, IIsi motherboard, speaker, power LED, and...
Happy to help.
Here's something to ponder. If I turn the power supply on/button screw on the back of the IIsi to force it to always stay on, then I boot and choose shutdown, here is what I get:
The timing looks suspiciously like your trace. 250 ms and then it auto powers up again?
There is...
You didn't install this capacitor, did you? There should not be.
Since you completely rebuilt your riser board, maybe you thought a capacitor should be installed there. If so, it would explain how a charge could accumulate on pin 2.
I don't have transistor 45 hooked up. And, obviously my power supply is not restarting, so you only see it turn off (not on again). I tried this with and without the PRAM battery. I am using Floppy Emu and not a hard drive.
After shutdown, /PFW (yellow) climbs to about half a volt and then...
