I assume you mean the external SCSI connector of you Plus? It might work, you might need to check that the drive is terminated properly, either jumpers or resistor packs

I could only get my 630 to work with industrial CF cards. https://www.savagetaylor.com/2023/12/17/ide-replacing-your-old-ide-drive/ That initially worked, currently my 630 is having issues but i think it needs a recap. If your 630 has not been recapped that may be the root cause for you too.

Did a quick search. Mac OS 8.1 was the first system to have official UDF support. So perhaps 68k systems capable of running 8.1 can access DVDs

I assumed that was the case, but I wasn't sure if the issue with the Plus lacking terminator power was no power or not enough power, so I suggested the USB connection to be sure.

A Macintosh plus does not provide terminator power. Are you providing power via the USB port on the ZuluSCSI mini? You could also try one of my image files https://www.savagetaylor.com/downloads/downloads-macintosh/

I haven't tried this yet, but could you use https://github.com/saybur/scuzEMU to import the ini to you mac, edit it and save back to the SD?

You can use industrial CF cards to get back the correct IDE support, or use ZuluIDE.

The front comes on and off fairly easily, and I doubt i would be changing the contents of the SD card often, I would more likely want to backup the .hda file before making major changes

Sigh, tried to use my LC 630 today, I think it needs a recap. It will boot from the CD ROM but will not boot from the external SCSI or recognize the internal IDE.

Did not have a chance last night, will do a "for all systems" install so the right enabler should be there.
