I recall that smell when I had one of the non-unibody MacBooks. I still smell it on my iBook G4 1.33ghz. My 2009 MacBook has two small cracks on the rear display cover near the hinges. Hopefully I can do some plastic welding to help, but will wait until I hear of your results.

I'm trying to open one of the IMG files from Macintosh Garden's Quake download on my MacBook. Finally opened the SEA file to reveal the two IMG files. Opening the file with Disk Utility reports that it is a legacy image file and should be upgraded. How do I open the IMG file in macOS Catalina?

I finally updated the Windows Installer application. Before reinstalling Windows 11, I'll attempt to check what version of the graphic driver is installed. I think it is the latest version of the driver. Hopefully I can confirm this before it locks up again.

On that note I installed Windows 2025 server on a VM running on my 2012 Mac Pro. I think it took over a day to install. I think it was because the VM was stored on an external 2.5 spinning rust hard drive.

I find that a C64 was pretty nice for the time. Disc access was extremely slow unless you had a fast-loader cartridge. I recall waiting 20 minutes for a game to load, only for it to crash 10 minutes after starting a game. Wasn’t too happy with the computer after that.

I have no clue, but also have no FireWire devices either. All external devices I have are either USB or eSATA.

Looks nice and chonky - should be a nice one to use. Wonder if it could be a hackintosh with the exception of the graphics. I'm a fan of the 15" Thinkpads, but typically go with the T-series (and lately an E-series).
