sooooo uh, this is on eBay, and it looks to be a normal digital audio or graphite G4. until you look at the pictures and see the motherboard has the 4pin power connector for the CPU and the extra screw post that provides 12V for QS cards.
if anyone here in...
curious, why are you going for 7.5(.3-5?) over 7.6.1? and this may be out of your scope but mac os 8.5 and 8.6 are almost completely PowerPC native and run much better on these machines.
i'm fairly certain the older powerbook displays didn't use LVDS or eDP (obviously), but rather an RGB TTL interface. i forgot exactly how it works on these but chances are you'd need to find a compatible panel based on how your original panel is laid out. yeah, sadly, no modern adapters exist...
did the apple software restore CD for the performa 550 seriously come with mario teaches typing??? thats hilarious. also some very interesting stuff, not sure if other apple computers have this (mainly performa i suppose). reminds me of those recovery partitions on windows machines from the...

what specific computer is having issues and do you have a picture of the board? there are plenty of G3 models, spanning different times in technological advancements.
so far i havent found anything about other chip sizes. theoretically it may be possible to get the pinout of these chips and make an interposer for other chips that can be adapted, so long as it is able to have the same amount of addresses... which i am not too sure about. i know you can't go...
guess what. i found a working 32mb 168pin DIMM in my 6400 that i'm replacing with 2 64MB DIMMs soon and they use the same type of chip packaging. and the same amount of chips. i'll get back when i finish up the mod; already managed to get half of the chips and the other capacitors populated.
ahhh, i see. yes that would make more sense. and there is of course the onboard memory on the 6400, which is only 8MB. now i am curious about upgrading that to something larger... hehe
