just got a very cheap 5300 board on ebay in case i couldn't get the 6360 one working (i know it needs a 3.3V relay of some sort)... just need to solder on a new CPU because the one on the board was damaged. luckily i have a spare CPU from a dead powerbook 5300c.

hmmm that would be interesting... a 7447B (which is what i've got) ibook clamshell... lol the hardest part i think is getting the firmware to work with it. that would already be one hell of a performance boost from the G3/400... also, how would i get my hands on one of the interposers?

what would be a good voltage for 600mhz? do i have to use a custom cooling solution?

@LightBulbFun would it be possible to put the 7400 into an iBook clamshell? or should i go for the 7410

if thats the case, i'm lucky i have a few 7400s i can try reballing and then throwing on there lol

yeah i'm really considering doing this because i need to put my 6360 board to good use, also i don't see myself getting a more proper board upgrade anyway seeing as how expensive and rare they are now

i renamed the extensionless file to .bin and used the .cue to burn it to a CD

i wonder how fast this will be with a 600mhz G4 7410 in it. i know i'll need a fan and a better heatsink (not sure what will work though)... just not sure how exactly i'll go about connecting it to power

i am curious about this because i own a color classic with a seemingly dead motherboard, and i also happen to own a spare 6360 motherboard... i wanna hear your all's thoughts, i have the wiring harness from that 6360 as well so i may consider doing the mod because it's quite hard to find LC...

yes it edits the ROM directly by only updating the config block itself. its very easy to use.

i was able to edit the ROM directly using the program, i just had to hold power and command while turning it on until i hear a long beep. i was also able to get everything working as i stated earlier.

got the bus speed set correctly in the config block, now the CPU is being properly recognized at its true speed. maybe, when i do more practice, and improve upon my skills... i should definitely put a G4 into this computer
