USB-MIDI Interfaces Interoperability?

OSX has always been so great in my use regarding class-compliant USB audio interfaces & class-compliant USB-MIDI interfaces, but I figured I'd better check w someone w PPC OSX experience before assuming my assumptions because MIDI interfaces on OS9 seem to be beyond my current frame of understanding (before you laugh at me consider that they're more complicated than the basic idea of some things aren't PnP and will need drivers).

I'm running 10.4 Tiger on an iBook - really any USB-MIDI cable/interface that's class-compliant & works with my Intel Macs on CoreMIDI should perform similarly?

I've finally, finally got the editor software for the Roland MC-909 sampling groovebox (a mainstay of my recording studio) running on this Tiger iBook but it's completelly useless w/o a MIDI interface. One class-compliant USB audio interface I've got works perfectly PnP w the iBook, but the other was a disaster shenanigan despite being readily recognized by Tigeter as a USB Audio Device which CoreAudio appeared ready to tango with. It's a 8x8 TOSlink (ADAT) situation.

If anyone has any software drivers they've ever confirmed work for getting MIDI going on a 68k PPC I'd be entirley grateful; I could probably find a M-Audio Timepiece A/V with RS-232 as those seem to get around , or perhaps a MOTU 2408. But that, of course, is for another section of our forums entirely.
