The dreaded capacitor goo expands its theatre of operation

Further to my post in Conquests about a new (old) Colour Classic:

What may be of use to other enlisted to know is that the dreaded capacitor goo was present on two of my four CC logic boards, in both cases around C2 and C3 (100µF, 6.3V) at the rear left (seen from the front of the board), but without so far affecting their operation. One board also showed goo around C8 (10µF, 16V), some small distance away. I promptly washed (water only) the goo off, blow-dried (canned air) the surplus water off and left the boards in the summer temperature (~30°C) of the veranda for a couple of hours to complete their drying.

At their next opening you may care to look to see whether you also have this insidious incursion into your Colour Classics/Performa 250s.
