There are 2 versions of the card, the original Truevision one with a VGA out and 2 or 3 round plugs for A/V and the AVID modified one with VGA out and 2 large rectangular plug for A/V. The truevision drivers will not recognize the AVID card at all (avid used a different daughter card and ROM).

The manual can be found online if you google.

i have 2 cards from truevision , one is single board how you described , 1 vga and 2 rounded connectors (input and output) , the oter one is 2 cards

separated phisically but interconeccted by flat cable ..look like SCA80

both have rom 1.3 , and both have same problems , i was thinking bad rom version flashed.

The 2000 is just one card (2 layers), the AVID cards tended to have a cable that conected them to the AVID compression cards.

Have a picture of the cards?

Never seen the double card setup before, interesting. The section it attaches to is where the normal compression board would be.

Where did you get that 2 card set? Anything written on them?

I know that the PCI cards had a ROM update for use with the later 720x468 NTSC intead of 640x480. I wonder if somebody used that ROM?

fondamentally are the same card , but one have separate composite input/output , i guess the sandwich one is newer version maybe for to save 1 nubus slot , both cards have printed on it truevision everywhere and at boot time shown

'TRUEVISION' 1,3 ROM splashscreen. i have buy lot of old nubus cpu and pulled out from. since the 1.3 room is very old , i think the first version maybe the ex owners flashed with old rom then making them garbage.
