I was wondering if anybody had a copy of Switcher, the multitasking utility written by andy Hertzfeld that preceded MultiFinder. I've been trying to find it around the Internet without luck.

Could it be called Switcher Powerup? At the top of the mla software section, click on it, then on info-mac. Go into the configuration section.

It was called Switcher Construction Kit, and ran on Macintosh 512K and XL. I did run it on a Plus before using strictly Multifinder. I have an original disc (400K) and manual that I was considering putting on eBay. Interested?

the creation date says 1999, so that may not be it.

Having just received a copy of the original Switcher Construction Kit, I'm planning on covering it in more detail on Episode #82 of the RetroMacCast. Contact me at retromaccast@gmail.com if you'd like more info on Switcher.

I have a couple of versions of Switcher. There's a little bit about them (and other multitasking options) on my apple collection web page here http://school.anhb.uwa.edu.au/personalpages/kwessen/web/stories/EarlyMacStories.html#multitasking

Would it be possible for you to put up downloads of these multitasking tools, particularly servant? As far as I know, there is no place where these tools can be downloaded.
No, they're certainly still out there on the net. Part of the fun is hunting them down, which I'm sure is why Ken hasn't put any download links on his site.
