SCSI2SD V5.0c - Assembled in the US

Yesterday, we received the initial qualification batch of our follow-on SCSI2SD V5.0 design, the V5.0c. The board dimensions are 90mm by 60mm, or 3.54 inches by 2.4 inches. The height is 12mm. This differs from the previous version 5.0, being slightly more narrow (the same width as V5.1/V5.2/V6) and slightly deeper.

The locations of the mounting holes on the front are identical to that of the V5.1/V5.2/V6, allowing use of the many different existing mounting brackets which are available for V5.2/V6.

With SCSI2SD V5.0c, we chose to find a new contract assembly house that was US-based. All V5.0c's are assembled in Buena Vista, Virginia, which is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I've put a handful up for sale, if anyone wants early bird access. This initial batch of boards doesn't have the Berg connector installed, but if you ask nicely in the order notes, we'll solder one for you. The lack of Berg power connector is desirable if you want to use a SCSI2SD V5.0c in many of the desktop Macs, in lieu of where the CD-ROM normally goes, since the power connector mechanically conflicts with the large four-pin Molex connector that's on the stock Apple adapter.
