Safely disassembling the TiBook display assembly

My TiBook came with one hinge already snapped off (not during shipping, this clearly happened some time ago) and I'd like to try and reattach it, but I genuinely don't know if it's even possible to disassemble the display assembly safely...is it possible and if it is, how do I do it?

I started taking apart my DVI 1Ghz model to replace the hinges with a better set, only to find that the hinges are fixed to the LCD casing. For my situation (seized hinges) it wasn't worth it and ended up lubricating the hinges instead.
You can unscrew the screen casing and pry it apart gently (it's glued), but for the model I mentioned it seems you need to replace the entire screen assembly to fix/replace hinges :(

You could try to remove the bezel by gently prying up, perhaps with application of heat, but chances are slim the bezel will survive, and it’s possible to damage the screen with heat. I was successful with a few bezels under which the glue was particularly brittle just by prying - no heat needed - but most of the bezels were not reusable afterwards.

If you are successful in removing the bezel and LCD, you need to unscrew the LCD from the sides. You will likely find that the black bracket that surrounds the LCD has broken off in the extraction process.

I have heard of success stories with JB Weld, but I was not successful gluing hinges in place with CA glue or epoxy (including JB Weld); the repair was just not strong enough.

I ended up reusing the few bezels that survived, along with case backs/hinges purchased NOS from Sunshine Express on eBay. I bought some NOS bezels from them, also. I don’t know if they still have any bezels or backs/hinges left. It was expensive, particularly since it was for a dozen or so TiBooks, and fiddly, but it worked.

To clarify, the actual hinge itself is intact, it's the part of the frame the hinge is attached to that snapped off.

But it sounds like this might not be repairable, which would mean hunting down a replacement A1025 display assembly.
