Restoring my SE to SE/30 conversion; fan question

I'm restoring my SE/30 that was an SE conversion and the fan is super noisy. I pulled a quiet fan out of an SE parts machine but I discovered that the noisy fan has wires and the other one has 2 terminals sticking out the back. It looks like the analog board has a place to solder in a fan with terminals though. Could it be as simple as just soldering in the new fan and leaving the original wires clipped?
Here's Pics:

My SE FDHD did not have the "Squirl Cage" style fan so I cant be 100% certain, but if I were you I would grab a multi-meter and check what voltage you get at those two pins. If you see 12V then yes that will power those fans, no issue. Let us know what you find.

Here's comparing the board with the wired fan and the one with the fan with terminals. The SE/30 had the wired fan that I want to replace with terminals fan.

Here's what I think I need to do. Find out what that transistor is at R31 and replace it, then run a bodge wire at W6. That should provide power to the 2 terminal holes for the fan. One thing I find odd is that the wire at W6 isn't protected and it easily comes in contact with the PSU housing. Maybe because it's the black wire that' makes it OK?
I know nothing about components, can someone tell me what to buy for that transistor/resistor at R31?

The molex plug came right out of the solder joints at P5 when I pulled the plug, oof!

Is the donor analog board any good? If so, just reattach the fan, recap the board, reinstall the hard drive molex connector, then use it.
