Look at this:
Macintosh In Austria ( http://www.carrier.co.at/res/mac/index.html) pointed at Realtek Semiconductor – Gigabit-Ethernet-Drivers for Mac OS 9
The RTL8169S-Chip is to find at many cheap Gigabit Ethernet-PCI-Cards like the GNC-0105T from Level One (tested under Mac OS 9) or the SMC9452TX-1 (Realtek-Version) from SMC.
Realtec at the moment put the driver for the 8169 off from their download section, but if somebody needs it you can write me an PM.
I made an own thread instead of using this one http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4853 to make it easier for people to recognise the "$ 8 Gigabit-Option" for OS 9
