Walked around town yesterday with my friend and spotted a store with lots of stuffs inside. My friend was looking for a video card to fix his G3 as it doesn't show any video after power on. So we asked the shopkeeper if we can get the video card from those dusty Xserve they are selling...

Well, HK$3000 (US$1 = HK$7.80) for a dusty Xserve G4 Dual 1.33GHz :O of course we don't have money for that (and don't think it worths that much anyway)

How about the video card? HK$150 :)

We got home and tried to use the video card with the G3 but no luck. No signal on display at all... xx(

...anyone know if I can use it on a G3? Or I should try it with newer Macs like G4?

That's odd, because my Radeon 7000 works just fine in my 8500/180, It should work in a Power Mac G3. Have you tried it in a different PCI Slot, as the first one is a 66Mhz slot and may be incompatible with the 7000.

Just tried the video card on my G4 Gigabit Ethernet. It works... so I guess there's something wrong with my friend's G3.

Maybe I should try this video card with my 8600/G4 later? Hah :b&w:
