"Open" Apple IIGS Emulator on the iOS App Store!

See the MacRumors story on it.

In short, the old Apple IIGS Demo Group Free Tools Association created an iOS App (works on both my iPhone 3G and iPad,) that is, in theory, a compilation of their old Apple IIGS Demos.

In reality, it is just the ActiveGS emulator with a menu-driven front end to load disk images. You can browse the file structure using the openly available "PhoneView" Mac OS app to drop in new disk images, and edit the very simple-format XML file that it uses to draw the menu.

I have successfully run the "Your Apple Tour of the Apple IIGS" disk (imaged from my own physical copy) with no problems at all. Now I just need to find that copy of GS/OS 6 I have in a folder somewhere.....

If you want to emulate an Apple II on your iOS device, you'd better go grab this app quick, before Apple pulls it! (Best of all: It's free!)

Edit: Found it! I am now running Apple GS/OS System 6.0.1 on my iPad. Yay!
