No worries, read through that post I linked - pretty much what I remember from back in my Big Blue days. There was also a theory that the lubricant would "pile up" in the less frequently used areas of the disk, so when you shut down (without forcing the head to "park") and the head happened to be over one of those areas, then your chances of stiction were much greater. To reduce this, there were also drive "exerciser" utilities that allowed to to force the head to seek in various ways - random, butterfly, etc... those were the days....
