I needed the board for a private project, so i did recreate the monitor out board.
This board supplies the standard Mac monitor port – DB-15 and the internal speaker connector.
  • Performa 6200, 6205CD, 6214CD, 6216CD, 6218CD, 6220CD, 6230CD, 6290CD, 6300CD (Performa 6320 and 6360 carry a different part number)
  • Performa 630/630CD/631CD/635CD/636/637CD/638CD
  • LC 630/Quadra 630/Performa 640
Sharing is caring, so here it is:

Nice job! It would be interesting to do a remix of this board that provide VGA out instead. Maybe @bigmessowires can remix his recent DB-15 to VGA keeping the same dimensions?

I actuall already have a VGA design, but there is more work involved then just the technical part.
The bezel need to be redesigned, because the DB15 has a different shape and do not match up with the DB15 mounting holes.

I am currently working on other projects, but will probably dive into it when i have a bit more time:)

Would this also work in a 5200 to replace the internal display?
Well, I don't own a 5200, so I can't give you a 100% accurate answer, but:

I think you can assume that the edge connector pinout is the same across the entire line (models 630/640/5200/5300/6200/6300/5400/6400/5500/6500). This means that the necessary lines are present. However: In the 630/6200/6400/6500 models (so only the non-monitor models) there is an IDC34 cable from the logic board edge connector which runs towards the DB15 outputboard. I expect that the cabling is not present in the 'all in one' models and that the signals are processed on the analog board. Unless you find a way to find and extract all the needed data-lines; then the answer is probably: yes :)
So: In theory it is possible, in practice you will have to probably convert a lot, or replace/change the wireloom.

I’m pretty sure the all-in-one and desktop motherboards are exactly the same. The only difference may be in the wiring harness that connect the edge connector to the different video boards.
