Just aquired (via another 68kMLA member!) a beautiful iBook G4 running 10.4 and I would like to install 10.5 Leopard on it. Actually, previous owner had partitioned the disk with a half where 10.4 is installed and the other partition was already reserved for 10.5 but he was told that the iBook can't dual-boot? I don't see why not, even if I have to hold down option every time I start up to choose which "disk" to boot from.
Anyways I have found disk images online for 10.5 and they appear to be good - at least the folders are all there, it can mount on my 10.14 iMac, it got like almost an hour into installing on the iBook happily before it croaked and said there was an issue with one of the files on the DVD I burned. I wasn't exactly surprised because when I burned the image it said that it couldn't verify that it was good (I forget the particulars). I am trying to download the iso from a different source, hoping that may be the cause: https://archive.org/details/OsxLeopardInstall
Any ideas / known good iso sources? I tried to Verify in Disk Utility but couldn't.
