Macintosh Plus Random Reset

Hey guys

As some of you might know, I'm in the process of refurbishing some of the components in my Plus. After spending the past year with it not working, I finally feel like progress is being made. However I'm encountering one of two problems and thought I would post here and get the advice of some fellow 68Kmla users :)

The trouble I'm having at the moment is the machine seems to be resetting at random. It's only happened twice, on separate days. At the moment I'm hoping its just the reset / program switch pressing on the button and causing a reset. The alternative is I could have a dry joint some place, it can't be the connector which links the power and logic boards together, as I have already refreshed those pins.

While I was reinstalling the floppy drive after regreasing it, I encountered a weird situation where the mac would power up if face down, but sitting right way up would not. At least not until I hit the board with the butt of my screw driver.

Are there any other area's prone to drying up?

Poke and prod with an insulated stick until you find a "ticklish" spot that causes the problem. A wooden kitchen spoon works well.

"ticklish"

Acutely that is a interesting idea :) sounds like fun.

When I get home , I'm going to tickle my 512ke It's got the very beginning stages of the OP's issue.
