Macintosh and stylewriter ???

If you're willing to run System 7.1, then certainly. If you want to stick with System 6... will the System 6 StyleWriter driver support the 1200? Or can you use the later StyleWriter 1200 driver on System 6 with TrueType and GrayShare installed?

Hi MacintoshGuy,

In 1993, my brother typed and printed his master's thesis on a Mac Plus. It had 1MB RAM. He typed it up in MacWrite 5.0. We had to create a RAM-Disk to load the system folder (System 6.0.7), reboot then add the extension for the StyleWriter II from a second floppy, reboot again and thrn stick in the floppy with the thesis and MacWrite.

I think it was a StyleWriter II that he used, but I'm not sure. In short, try it. It might just work.

The StyleWriter II will work fine with a Mac Plus under System 6 or 7.

With the 1200 and later, it may or may not work. I believe most of the newer StyleWriters needed a 68020, but it *could* work. The driver may not, and I'm not sure if a StyleWriter II driver could take the place of it, but it would be worth a shot.
