Mac 128K to iOS device with serial cable

It could, but what would be the application with an iOS device? I suppose you mean for use with a 128K and a jail broken iOS device? Without a way to store files, or run them, not entirely sure what could be done? Use an iOS device as an Internet connection to send data from the 128K?

The Keyspan serial adapter already serves this purpose nicely with OSX. Also, I'm not sure why a dedicated cable would be necessary. I would bet that the USB adapter which currently allows keyboards, would also allow the Keyspan adapter to work as well with Apple approved drivers, assuming Keyspan chooses to get into the business. If not, we're talking jail- breaking again.

This sure took them long enough! Apple approved this a year ago for use with the iPhone, but I guess it took the iPad to really encourage development. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12838

Actually, there are plenty of iOS apps that store files! They are quite prolific now days, but there have been apps like AirSharing since the early 2.0 days.

So, you have an Terminal App which can store files and then you directly transfer them using a serial cable and MacTerminal.

Not as cool as what I did with the Mac 512Ke and an iPhone, but a direct connection none the less!

Yes, I've had AirSharing since it was free. I realize now that when I do inadvertently download a file in Safari or Mail that it puts it in AirSharing. Wonder what it would do if I didn't have AirSharing? Either way, it seems more like a, "yeah I can do that" kind of app. So it basically becomes a sort of intermediate hard drive between your 128K and OS X Mac, with wireless connectivity, which can be achieved now with a wireless USB transmitter and the Keyspan adapter. But more people are likely to have an iPhone or iPad rather than a dedicated wireless transmitter. I've just never had a reason to do it since I can just take my MacBook to wherever the 128K is. But it would be great for an iMac, Pro, or mini setup. So yeah, I'm all for someone to write that app!! Apple should approve it too.

Too bad Apple would never approve an App that would also run them.
