LC Problems - Cause Found?

I wrote a thread in August about a strange video problem I experienced with my LC. It re-occurred last week and again tonight. Setting the display to "thousands of colors" is the only cure for the problem until it goes away (which seems to happen if I leave the machine on long enough).

I'm not sure if this would be the problem or not, but do you suppose the power supply cannot get enough power? I say this because the circuit the LC is on seems to be the same one as the furnace and a space heater. Could it be that the furnace is interfering? The problems started occurring when the humidity setting on the furnace was adjusted, and now I'm wondering if that's no mere coincidence.

Yesterday I encountered problems on my Color Classic with a flickering display. I had it on the same circuit. There was no missing blue channel, just an occasional flicker.

Another thought I have is that the power supply itself is failing. I know it's not the monitor since I've tried it on other Macs and it works fine. I'm also skeptical of the logic board since the LC has another weird issue (it has trouble with typing two 9s in a row...if I type, for example, 1998, it will either add a 4, making it 19948, or will delete my second 9, making it 198). This problem has existed with the machine for a long time.

My final thought, and I know this is far fetched, is that something in the ADB circuit is haywire and is interfering with the video as a result.

Have you ruled out "El Nino"?

Seriously though, I have two LCII, an LCIII and a Q605. The LCs all seem to whine a bit but I haven't had any video problems.
