LC 475

I work for a Premium Reseller and mentioned to a customer a few weeks back that I collect vintage Macs, fast forward to today and in he comes with an LC 475 + mouse/KB for me as they were going to be junked. I'm chuffed about this as I don't yet own an 040 machine. It's very yellowed and has been sat in an attic for years so I won't know if it actually works until I bring it home tomorrow.

Ah yes, the 475, "mine" was labeled as the "Performa 475," but man that was a great machine as a kid. I was borrowing it from my dad until I could fix the powerboard in my Classic II. (That story is in my Mac Classic topic in the Trading Post.)

I would do all sorts of games and stuff on it with my siblings. We'd make hilarious recordings with SoundEdit Pro and SoundEffects, we'd play games like Onyx, Boom, Factory, GopherGolf, Snood, Bonkheads Demo, PowerPete, Widget Workshop, and having fun drawing in ClarisWorks and KidPix. In those days I found AppleTalk LAN chat programs like NetChat and ChatNet (two totally different programs.) And each of us in our own bedrooms, we'd chat together using PhoneNet adapters, resulting in long phone cords laying about in the hall. :p we'd pretend to be made up characters and be just plain silly. I still have the logs from those chats. :D

Man those were good times...
