Interware Booster G3 333 MHz - Future Project?

I recently found this Interware Booster G3 333 MHz for all the PCI PowerMac (7200/7500/7300/7600/8500/8600/9500/9600) and Mac Clones models. It only cost about $100 from Yahoo Actions, and it came with a driver disk, which was readable. Apparently, Interware sold products with the Viimage in the US.

This card is pretty interesting since it has an interesting heat sink. Not sure how much it cost, but it's probably close to $1000 when it came out in 1998/1999.

I just need to find a machine to put this in, but all the Power Macintosh 8600/9600 that are on Ebay is overpriced, hopefully find one at the upcoming VCF Swap meet in Jersey in June, but I want the tower version, not the desktop.

That's a nice looking card and matching heatsink! As mentioned an upgrade like this will work just as well in a 7300/7500/7600 than an overpriced 8600/9600.

I don’t have room for a desktop, I prefer towers since I can shove it underneath my desk, not so much with a desktop. That is why I want an 8600 at a minimum.

(Not an 8500 or 9500, it’s hard to get into those cases, and I know since I upgraded an 8100 recently, which uses the same case from the Quadra 800 and 840av)

While still waiting for responses to buy a Power Macintosh 9600, slowly gathering upgrades, probably more in the future. Speaking of which, while browsing Yahoo Auctions, I found another G3 accelerator. Won it for $46, which someone is trying to sell on Ebay for $200, granted it’s boxed. I have saw ones that range from 300 MHz to 500 MHz G3.

Interesting that Buffalo made G3 and even G4 accelerator cards for the Japanese market besides memory upgrades for Macs, not too much are documented about them, unlike the Interware ones which are known as VImage. The drivers at least exist.

Also, if anyone has a 9600 anyone is willing to sell to me for a reasonable price, see the thread in my signature. I’m still looking for one.IMG_1654.jpeg

I believe I have this card. Do you have drive disk backed up. If you have I would love to get a copy of the disk image.

Here it is. I actually took an image of the installer disk, but I know they are also on Macintosh Garden.
