ImportFl for iPad Mini vMac?

I have fallen in love with Mini vMac for iPad to keep my “vintage Mac“ handy at all times.

However I can’t work out how to get ImportFL working to import a non-disk-image without involving a desktop machine. In this thread, @gingerbeardman says you can use the share sheet from the iOS Files app with ImportFL open on Mini vMac, but when I do that, Mini vMac just pops up an iOS alert saying “File xxxx imported to Documents” without actually making it available inside Mini vMac.

Any advice much appreciated.

Self-answer for the record: one needs to open ImportFL in Mini vMac, then go to the Files app and "share" (to Mini vMac) a file that is already in the Mini vMac documents folder under "on this iPad".

If you try to instead "share" a file that is on iCloud Drive or anywhere else, it will simply copy it to the Mini vMac documents folder without opening the file inside Mini vMac.
