Help tracking down older versions of MacWWW/Samba

I'm working on archiving the earliest versions of the oldest web browsers -- unfortunately, many of these versions are disappearing as FTP archives go offline.

I'm wondering if anyone here has a lead on pre 1.03 versions of MacWWW/Samba? The Garden, MacGUI, and indeed the rest of the web seems to only have that version. At least 1.00 and 1.02 were available at one point, and the holy grail would be the original alpha version referenced here (MacWWW.hqx).

Might be worth checking old BMUG disks if anyone has any. I think that'd be a great place to look.

Good idea. I had a look at through the PD-ROM disks as well as the AMUG disks, but no luck.

Part of the issue may be that the time from the initial Alpha release to 1.03 is fairly short: February - August 1993.

If anyone else has other ideas or leads, please let me know.
