Hard drive on Quadra 950 is being stubborn...

So, fired up the Q950 about an hour ago. Everything works, but I cannot seem to rename the hard drive to the stock "Macintosh HD" volume name. Turned off Appletalk and disabled file sharing, thinking that those might be the issue, yet it won't let me rename the hard drive.

File Sharing would also have been my first guess.. Maybe boot from the Disk Tools floppy and try it from there?

Doesn't sound like a good sign. If you check the partition with Apple HD SC Setup there is a flag for locking partitions, but truth be told, I've only seen issues like this with disks that are failing.

Copied the data over to the G4's hard drive, then reformatted in Drive Setup under 9.2.2. Made sure to set it up as HFS and not HFS+. Renamed the partition, then copied everything back over. Reinstalled the drive in the 950, and everything's working as it should. Ran the machine for a couple hours. No issues, except for some extensions that weren't playing nice. Once those were disabled, it was rock solid. Now just need to create a ROM SIMM that bypasses the memory check. Might also chuck in the code for the Mac II series guitar chord startup chime just to confuse people.
