I'm surprised no one made a thread about this huge bit of mac gaming news.
John Calhoun (of Soft Dorothy fame, Glider, the original Glypha I, II and III, etc.) released on May 15 a modern-day version of Glypha called Glypha: Vintage. Runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Rather than just creating yet another colorized version of the game, he went to a desaturated palette of black white and gray hues to go closer back to the original aesthetics. The resolution is bumped up (it has the steam deck to keep in mind), but the larger screen estate is counterbalanced by larger sprites. It's very fluid and in my humble opinion, the best version to date. Perfect for time wasting for short stints at a time.
if you go into the Community Hub of that game on Steam, you can see posts by user 'Soft Dorothy' which is just John Calhoun explaining his design decisions and process.
It's on sale until May 22nd at a slight rebate, but it's just around $3, easy to show some appreciation for one of the great mac game devs!
I am NOT affiliated with any of this, I just aim to spread the vintage mac gaming news when they come, they rarely do!

Glypha: Vintage on Steam
A fast-paced, Egyptian-themed jousting tournament recalls 1980's classic arcade action. Glypha is a rewrite of the classic shareware game from the early B&W Macintosh days. Smoother, faster, and harder than you remember.
