An inexpensive Digital Caliper from Harbor Freight Tools, or some such, will get you to at least hundredths of a mm and it's very useful tool to own. I got my 6" Mitutoyo Digital Caliper w/Computer Interface way back in 1988 and it still works . . .

. . . but the LCD is almost impossible to read now. :'(

I've got two or three cheapo replacements for it banging around the joint, they're worth the money, especially my latest one that does metric, digital AND FRACTIONAL inch readout. That one's great for ID & OD measurements (especially useful as a "digital" drill bit gauge [:D] ]'> ) but you'll be needing the depth gauge measurement stick on yours.

Found some more ProtoMacPics online today, here's a choice one, it's more Duo/PB Gray, but it sure would look nice in a "Black Snow" suit.

That looks like a standard, production (minus the reflection on the bottom which makes the bottom look totally smooth) Mac LC, complete with beige enclosure and everything. It's just got odd lighting. It is a really nice photo of an LC though.

I think you are right, thanks for the correction. But it's from AppleDesign, so who knows? I'll take inspiration wherever I find it! :approve:
