So I found a mac 128k that im thinking on getting but it has an error code 040001. Anyone know how to fix that? Just trying to know how to fix before getting it.

Memory error I think. Bit 1, but that might just be the first chip it tested.

Careful - it means a memory error, not specifically a bad chip. Probably a bad chip, but it could be something causing issues reading / writing to memory too. Just so the OP doesn't just replace the chip.

I'd suggest testing the chip - do you know anyone with a TL866? Realise I confusingly said bit 1 and the linked page says bit zero. to be clear I meant "the first bit" and I forgot that it was confusing.

The routine in the 128 is pretty good at testing memory chips, good enough to be able to test several and report those at the same time.
The main problem is removing the bad chip from the board first, to have it replaced or tested.
Not an easy task for a beginner.
