Delicious tangerine!

I found this at the side of the road during the hard rubbish collection: ;D

It's a 266 mhz, the sticker on it says it came with an 8 gig hard disk and 32 megs (!!!) of RAM.

And I'm supposed to be shedding junk before I go overseas, not collecting it! Still, how I could I possibly resist? I think it might have been raining, so how long should I hang this bugger on the line for before I use it?

Oh, and it came with this "Pro Keyboard" from 2000, which, if it works, will soon be replacing the keyboard that came with my Mini!:

Nice find, IMO the tangerine was one of the most attractive iMac colours. If the iMac was soaking when you found it then it would probably be best to leave it somewhere warm and dry for at least a week to dry out. If there isn't any water visible on the interior components then maybe just give it a couple of days to be sure.

It wasn't soaked - I think it had just been raining lightly, so I'll give it another couple of days before I switch it on.

On top of the refrigerator is a good place - you get the warmth from the coils to dry it slowly. I tend to give anything that's been out in the rain at least a week. Popping off the accessible panels helps, motherboard carrier if you can be bothered.

The two 21" CRTs I found sitting -in- the torrentially flooded gutter during a rainstorm are both working fine XD

Well, it works - has 8.6 on it. Was from a Real Estate agent, decommissioned in 2003. It actually feels faster than my dual core Mini so I can imagine how amazing the G3s were in their day. Like stepping back in time ;D

A rather fruity bouquet, with raspberry and chocolate notes and just a hint of burley tobacco. Excellent now or can be cellared for up to 3 years. What's a dryer sheet?

Damn! This thing flickered a couple of times when I was using it last night. The screen flicked off for a split second, though there was no loss of anything and I didn't need to restart. Does that mean it's going to blow up and kill me?
