I watched the very excellent video on cleaning an re-lubricating floppy drives that was posted here some time back:
I managed to refurbish one superdrive and then started on a second. The second works great, except the auto-eject doesn't work at all. Nada. It doesn't even make a noise. I found a thread on stuck drive gear on the auto-eject motor:
I spun the the gear manually to make sure it wasn't stuck but still nothing.
Are these things known to just die, or is there something I should be looking at?
I can always grab another out of an 800k drive, but I am just wondering if this one can be fixed.
