Just for the records, …

Did you know that "Civilization II" is/was availaible for 68k as well? I tried to backup my CD I bought 1998, and discovered a 68k CIV II. That seems to be not known by many people. At least i found no informations at the net about it.

No sign or mention of it on my Civ2 Gold CD that I can find, but I've only ever installed it on PowerPC machines. Google does turn up some mentions of a Civ2 68k demo, so something like that did exist at some point. The requirements for Civ2 Gold are pretty low (7.5.3, I think) so the original, pre-multiplayer gold version could very well have been available for later 68k Macs.

That's interesting, as Civ II certainly wasn't a graphically intensive game - I've always seen it as Civ I "tarted up", but then again aren't most Civ titles kind of like this? Civ II was a much bigger game though, in terms of megabytes/capacity.

I'd love to give it a crack on an '040 machine.

Hey everybody,

Just as a reminder, although there are various sources for old Mac software on the Internet, the 68kMLA isn't really the place to discuss them, or suggest/request additions to those resources.
