I finally got the rare G4 ZIF upgrade from PowerLogix. It wouldn't boot up after installing it despite having the G4 enabler patch installed, so I installed the patch again with the G3 and put the G4 back in.The same thing, until I turned the dial to the correct setting. Had to look at the manual.

Now it's fully working after adjusting the dial and installing the necessary software. I noticed that on Mac OS X, it was performing poorly without the software. Installing MACh Speed Control fixed that and it runs properly now.

I only ran XBench with the G4, but it scores practically this. Picture 8.png

Hi, sorry a bit OT, do you know if there’s a way to activate the L2 cache on a beige G3 that has a Yikes! G4 400 installed? I Tried with the sonnet drivers to no avail, and the G4 400 with no cache benchmarks 50% slower than the G3 300 with cache enabled. Thanks!

Ok Beige Success!
With Mach Speed Control, and a tiny overclock to G4@433 mhz these are my benchmarks.
I have the Radeon 7000 installed with the stock is 9.2.2 drivers and the graphics performance is pretty amazing. Don’t know what more the ati drivers can bring to the table , probably faster 3d acceleration and faster photoshop filters but who cares.
Thank you all for your input!
