Can someone with a real 68k test if Realmz has a bug or both Basilisk II and QEMU have the same bug?

Hi,

In the the classic shareware RPG Realmz, the scrolling text in the map you get in the spider tower in version 7.1.2 causes a crash in both QEMU emulating a Quadra 800, and Basilisk II on both a Mac IIci and a Quadra 900. Sheepshaver does not crash at this point. Realmz was very much a 68k title.

In QEMU with virtual memory turned on there is a hard crash with an MMU related error message while with virtual memory turned on the game just freezes.

Could anyone with a working system with similar specs confirm that this crash either happens or doesn't so I can report the bug to the emulators (if it is in fact a bug in the emulators)?

Point me to the game and tell me how to get to the problem and I can try it in MAME.

I can check too as long as it's relatively simple to get to and not a 4 hour slog through a game I never played :)

This is the game

This is a let's play video showing the broken part (working):

The game can be downloaded here https://fantasoft.powweb.com/downloads.html version 7.1.2 demo for Classic Mac (or Macintosh Repository, Macintosh Garden, Archive.org, etc.)

Registration codes are here (the game was made free the link is from wikipedia)
https://web.archive.org/web/20201120043326/https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/564322-realmz/62954795?page=1

1) Register the game (the codes are freely available with approval of the developer)
2) Create a party of level 30 characters
3) Set monsters and difficulty to minimum
5) Start an adventure in City Of Bywater
4) Play through the spider tower up to getting the map (walkthrough in the video)

You can increase the game speed in the menu to make the battles go faster
