Beige G3 Tower startup issues

My Beige has always been a bit...well..."different". It has never liked shutting down. I shut down, and the machine reboots. Only way to kill it is to pull the plug. And one of the RAM slots is completely dead. I get the broken glass sound when RAM is installed in that slot. In regards to the PSU issue, I originally thought it was the power supply and installed a much newer ATX PSU (AcBel 350W), which was needed anyway, given that the original is only rated for 171W. It also really, really, really, really does not like OS X and has never completed a successful install.

Recently I gave it a bit of a birthday and decided to order a Sonnet Tempo SATA card from OWC. Card is in, it works great, however it seems to have affected the reliability a little bit.

Sometimes the machine will boot fine, it will pick up both drives, no problem at all. Other times, I get the broken glass sound. I can usually fix it either by reseating the SATA connections, or by rebooting it with the power button. (the power button only reboots it - the machine powers up as soon as it is plugged in, and as mentioned previously, the only way to shut it down is to pull the power)

I have tried zapping the PRAM. I have tried resetting the CUDA. I have tried the card in different slots. Sadly I don't have access to another PCI desktop Mac to test the card, so thats out. Both drives (Seagate Barracudas, a 500GB and a 750GB) were used in PCs up until this point, and have always been trouble-free on PCs. Just wondering if anyone else has any more ideas, or if I should just consider it to be another way in which my G3 is unique? :)

I will say probably something related with the Logic Board, as you have several issues in same area.

I upgraded mine to OS 10.3 with the help of Xpostfacto, and everything worked great from the start, so probably not due to the Beige setup.
