I'm planning to build an AppleShare 4.0.1 server to run on a Q605. I will use OS/8.1.
The machine will be configured as follows:
132 MB RAM
PDS Ethernet
Internal boot drive HFS - size ??
External SCSI tower with:
9 gig SCSI HFS+ Shared Drive
CD burner
Tape Drive
SyQuest Drive
Software:
OS 8.1
AppleShare 4.0.1
Toast
Retrospect
The question that I have is what size drive do I need for the interal boot drive? Will an 80mb drive hold everything or do I need a larger drive? I don't want to waste a 2 gig SCSI drive that would have most of the space empty.
The Server will hold System 7, 8, and 9 files. My AS 2.0.1 server has Sys 6 and earlier files.
I know I could run ASIP 6.x on an OS 9 machine but I want a 68040 server (this is a 68K board, no?).
Thanks!
