Does anybody know about these software packages? It seems like one of those things that might have failed, as I have never heard of it. Here is an article about it:

CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Double Impact Multimedia, a global multimedia publishing and distribution company formed by ex-Macromedia executives, was selected by Apple Computer (Nasdaq-NNM: AAPL) to provide the content for Apple's recently announced CD-ROM Collection.

Double Impact Multimedia licensed all 24 titles in the CD-ROM Collection, which are divided into eight packages of three titles each. The titles come from such publishers as Time Warner Interactive, LucasArts Entertainment, and Sanctuary Woods.

A copy of the "Xpand Xpo Virtual Trade Show" on CD-ROM, provided by Double Impact Multimedia, will be included in each of the eight packages in the Collection. The disc features demonstrations of all the titles in the Apple CD-ROM Collection as well as information on thousands of other Macintosh-related products.

"Double Impact Multimedia put together an excellent collection of CD- ROM titles spanning a broad range of categories," said Andrew Scoular, Solutions Manager for the Apple New Media Division. "We expect the CD- ROM Collection to be a big hit with customers."

Double Impact was selected by Apple because of its experience in the multimedia industry, its relationships with CD-ROM publishers, and its knowledge of the retail market for CD-ROM titles, according to company president Tom Gaunt.

"We were able to work effectively with Apple to offer to consumers, for the first time, a series of hit multimedia titles at a great price," says Gaunt. His company, through its worldwide distribution network, is working with Apple and other distributors in Europe, Asia, and Japan to offer this collection internationally.

Double Impact Multimedia has operations in North America, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and the U.K.

I have several volumes. They're all pretty tacky in terms of what software was included. So far the best thing I found so far was The Journeyman Project.
