Anyway to make USB support in 9.2.2 any better?

I just installed OS 9.22 on my QS 867Mhz with 1.5 gig ram. I'm loving Classila and all the speed but one thing that annoys me is the lack of some decent drivers for USB. It won't recognise much. USB 2.0 PCI Card? not much responce... Scrolling on a pc mouse doesn't work. mass storage device are quite dodgy. Any tips or drivers?

Kensington had OS9 drivers for their mice and trackballs. They let you setup the mouse buttons and scrolling.

So did Microsoft.

Kensington doesn't appear to have them on their site anymore but you should be able to find them on the web

USB Overdrive for mice and joysticks will solve your problem. It's hard to find the OS 9 version but it is so worth it. Scrolling, multibuttons, everything "just works." I use a six-button Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 with my MDD in 9.2.2 and USBO enables everything.

There is no USB 2.0 for OS 9. It's 1.1 or bust. That said, a 2.0 card will work at 1.1 speed as long as it is OHCI compliant.

Mass-storage is a minefield. Targus makes a card reader that works okay and many, but not all, USB sticks do. It's sort of trial and error.

I'm probably going to end up doing an interim Classilla 9.2.3 release to fix bugs because TenFourFox is really detracting from time to do the layout merge for the long-promised, long-delayed 9.3.0.

I remember adding beta USB/mass storage drivers to my Powerbook G3 from the apple site. That is how I got the an USB 2.0 PCMIA card working. After that I never had any problems with mass storage devices. I should look for those drivers again.

I have problems with USB Overdrive. My cursus always goes to the bottom of the screen. And I can't move it up again. I had to restart without extensions on.
