I'm restoring a couple iMac Indigos and when I installed Mech Warrior 2 on the first one my speakers blew out. I figured well they are 25 years old. On my second one, I checked the speakers with a bunch of games and they were fine, and when I booted up Mech Warrior 2 my speakers blew out again. The volume on that game is unbelievably loud with no real way to turn it down. It seems to override the sound control panel.
