angled USB adapter

I have had this idea floating around in my head for some time now and it's time someone else knew about it.

I'm not sure how to implement this, but I would be the first customer and I am sure others could benefit from such a device. When I am on my laptop, I use an older wireless mouse. The receiver sticks out quite a bit, and I am worried about breaking it off if I move around. Now I know there are smaller receivers on newer mice, but this is a different approach. (Flash drives aren't always small and neither are wireless wifi dongles, etc.)

I've included a really shoddy diagram to kind of convey what I mean. I'm surprised that I haven't been able to find something like this yet. Since I haven't that's why I'm throwing it up here as maybe someone else has a need and could assist with fabricating something.

I guess what I am trying to portray here is a USB_Hinge℗. :approve:

Many wireless USB adapters also came with pivoting adapters, I'm sorry to say! You could always de-case the adapter and install it off an internal USB header. Or find another mouse with a tiny reciever.

I love this USB mouse. I've bought several from a couple of different vendors on eBay, all have been good. I love the feel, especially the rubberized top deck. The DPI toggle button is handy and the price is right, half that of the angle adapter above and the dongle is tiny.

Well now I feel dumb. I thought I covered all the bases searching for something like that, but I sure was wrong. Thank you for that link!

Also: I have a couple of Logitech mice with the tiny recievers, but the wheels just free roll and aren't that comfy.

I prefer this wireless microsoft mouse I got years ago, it just feels nice and has a couple extra buttons.

Thanks for the suggestion jt! I have had a couple mice like that in my ebay watch list, but now I have one to try out.

I've got a Logitech Mouse too, but it's too small, tall & clumsy. I like the one above because it's about the same size as the Teardrop ADB II, but a bit lower profile. It's very relaxing for the hand in use.

If it was spherically correct it'd be perfect. ;D

^^^^^^

This.

I have played with some. They are all garbage.

Just get a veryvery short extension cable and fling it somewhere. The hard pivoting extender things are not worth your time imo.
