Loved the memes. Thanks for the experience share guys, particularly uniserver. If I can get all my Macs operating I should have some fun hotswapping ADB without a care in the world. :D

I take no responsibility if someone else takes this as advice and causes a catastrophic cascading global telecommunications and power grid failure by hot plugging ADB to a toaster.
You sir, have won the internet for today,... well... yesterday.

I had one, but it's no longer available.

I successfully hot swapped my ADB keyboard and mouse between my Macintosh II and LC III today. It was great! Then the Mac IIs hard drive died. So all in all, a total fail of a day but at least ADB hot swapping worked!

It's all fun and games until someone gets an inducted voltage spike in the eye (or the adb port).

ADB hotswapping: the danger is real. :O

I have done it. Killed the ADB on a Mac LC. Unplugged the keyboard without thinking with power on.  :(

The keyboard and mouse survived, but the ADB port never worked again on that Mac LC.

Ah that was just dead caps.   i have ADB issues all the time with the LC,   The cap goo ooze runs all over that area and there is a transistor right that that rots up and dies... witch i commonly just fix with a normal cap job.

I have killed several Mac SEs during the 90s hotswapping keyboards. Mice tend to be nice to hotswap and never had a problem with it.

were these customers machines you killed?

I'v never had the luxury of killing anything adb hotswapping,  i have a stack of parts boards a mile high...

i'd love to blow an ADB port right out... I'd have it fixed in 10 minutes.

I have an AEKII and Apple ADB mouse hooked together... i hot plug the piss out of them.

and enjoy every minute of it.

this is so funny.... was just posted in the Ham Radio FB group...
