After a long time running my IIsi through an adaptor to an LCD monitor, I just found a 12" RGB monitor sitting at the local tip waiting to be loved.
I cleaned it up and mated it with my IIsi. They seem to be enjoying the honeymoon. Made for each other :beige:
Display worked straight away at standard 512/384 resolution 8bit 256 colors, but raster leaving about 3cm unlit borders on the screen. Height adjustment can be done from external port, for width you have to open the case and move the slug in a standing coil located between the flyback and the back of the tube.
I could get full width, but only by screwing the ferrite slug right down to the limit of its travel, virtually out of the coil.
I'm guessing this indicates some other capacitor/inductor in the circuit has drifted off spec.
Any suggestions where to look? I have the service doc for the monitor, but not schematic.
